Operator’s Guide: Handling Common Issues in TimeTec Parking System



Introduction

The TimeTec Parking System is built to deliver a smooth, automated parking experience for both drivers and operators. However, certain issues may occasionally arise during daily operations.

This guide provides quick troubleshooting steps to help car park operators identify and resolve common problems efficiently.


Process

1. Barrier Gate Not Opening Automatically

      Possible Causes:
      - Vehicle not detected by loop coil or radar sensor
      - LPR (License Plate Recognition) camera cannot read car plate
      - Season pass expired or not whitelisted
      - Network or reader disconnection

      Action Steps:
      - Check if the vehicle is detected on the parking interface.
      - Confirm that the LPR camera reads the car plate correctly.
      - Verify that the season pass or casual payment is valid in the system.
      - Use the manual “Open Barrier” function or lift the barrier manually if needed.
      - Report the case to the technical support team if a hardware or network fault is found.


2. LPR Unable to Detect or Misread Car Plate

      Possible Causes:
      - Dirty, damaged, or bent car plate
      - Car plate placement not aligned properly
      - Poor lighting or glare on the camera

      Action Steps:
      - Ask the driver to move slightly forward or backward to retrigger the LPR.
      - Check camera image clarity and lighting condition via the control interface.
      - If plate is unreadable, record car plate manually and open barrier manually.
      - Notify the technical team if the issue repeats , may require camera angle or lighting adjustment.


3. Payment Reader Not Working or Showing Error

      Possible Causes:
      - Network disconnection or unstable link
      - Reader not powered on properly

      Action Steps:
      - Check network connection (LAN/Internet) on the payment reader.
      - Restart the reader by turning it off and on. 
      - If bank card payment fails, suggest user to pay via Touch ’n Go or QR code(LPR).
      - Report to TimeTec Support with the terminal ID and error message.


4. System Offline or Data Not Updated

      Possible Causes:
      - Network switch or router malfunction
      - Power supply issue at site
      - Cloud synchronization delay

      Action Steps:
      - Confirm all devices and switches are powered on.
     - Verify Internet connection and system status on the dashboard.
     - Contact TimeTec Technical Support if still offline after reboot.

5. Season Pass Not Detected

      Possible Causes:
      - Season pass expired or not renewed
      - Car plate not updated in system
      - Account not linked to the correct car park

      Action Steps:
      - Verify car plate in Season Pass Management module.
      - Check renewal and payment status.
      - Ensure data synchronization to cloud is completed.
      - Temporarily whitelist the car if necessary and report to support.
