Optimize LPR Detection for Season Parkers Using Fault Tolerant Plates

Introduction

In some cases, vehicles with fancy, modified, or closely spaced license plates may cause License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras to misread the car plate number. This can lead to issues with barrier access when using a Season Pass in the TimeTec Parking system.
To solve this, TimeTec Parking provides a Fault Tolerant Plate feature. This allows operators to register possible misread versions of a car plate under the same Season Pass profile. With this setup, even if the LPR camera reads the plate slightly incorrectly, the system will still recognize the vehicle and allow seamless entry and exit.

Process
Follow these steps to add a fault tolerant car plate for a Season Pass vehicle:

1. Login to the TimeTec Parking Admin Panel.
2. Navigate to the Vehicle List page.
3. Search and select the Season Parker (the user you want to edit).
4. Click on Edit next to the vehicle details.
5. Locate the Fault Tolerant Plate field.
6. Insert the commonly misread car plate into the field.
Example: If the real plate is WIJ1234, but due to fancy car plate characters the LPR sometimes reads it as WU1234, add WU1234 as the fault tolerant plate. You may add several car plates in the Fault Tolerant field, separated by commas.

7. Save the changes.
