Step-by-Step Instructions for Restarting the TPK (TimeTec Parking Kiosk)
Introduction
Restarting the kiosk is sometimes necessary to maintain smooth and reliable operations. Over time, the system may experience temporary issues such as:
- Slow performance
- Frozen or unresponsive screens
- Card readers not responding
- Display or application errors
A proper restart helps refresh the system, clear minor glitches, and reset internal processes, ensuring that the kiosk continues to function effectively for customer use.
Process
1. Check for Activity
Ensure that no customers are currently using the kiosk before performing any restart or maintenance. Inform nearby users that the kiosk will be restarted and politely request their cooperation to refrain from using it until the process is complete.
2. Locate the Power On/Off MCB
Find the locked access door at the back of the kiosk, which provides entry to the internal panel. Unlock and carefully open the door using the provided key. At the bottom of the panel, identify the MCB switch (main power control).
3. Power Off
Confirm your hands are dry before touching any electrical components. Push the MCB switch down to the OFF position until you hear a click. Ensure the indicator lights and kiosk system have completely powered down. Wait at least 30 seconds to allow internal components to discharge safely.
4. Power On
With dry hands, push the MCB switch up to the ON position until you hear a click. Check that the indicator lights or display show the system powering up. Wait a few minutes for the kiosk to fully boot and display the TimeTec application on reader screen. Perform a quick test to confirm the system is operational.
5. System Check
Ensure the screen are responsive. Test the card and reader by tapping a card. Verify that the transaction is processed correctly and the barrier gate responds. Confirm that card readers are functioning properly.
6. Report Issues (If Any)
If problems persist after restarting, such as:
- Reader offline
- Card not recognized
- Barrier gate not opening
Report the issue immediately in the TimeTec Parking support group or notify the support team for further assistance.
