Process 

1. Civil Work Preparation 
Before any equipment is installed, basic groundwork must be completed: 
      a. Foundation Base (Island): Ensure concrete bases (typically 2x10ft minimum) are ready for barrier gate and parking equipment mounting. 
      b. Loop Coil Trenching: Ground must be saw-cut and ready for inductive loop installation based on the layout diagram. 
      c. Conduit/Trunking Laid: Electrical and communication conduits must be pre-laid from the barrier gate to parking equipment.
      d. Protective Bollards (if required): Bollards installed to protect equipment from vehicle impact.

2. Power Supply Setup 
Consistent power is crucial for system reliability: 
      a. Power Points for All Equipment: Each boom gate, terminal, and payment kiosk should have a dedicated power point (240V AC).
      b. Proper Grounding: Prevents electrical surges and ensures safety for sensitive electronic components 
      c. UPS Backup: Optional but highly recommended to keep the system running during outages.

3. Network Infrastructure 
Stable communication is the backbone of a cloud-based system like TimeTec Parking: 
      a. LAN Points at Key Locations: Ensure LAN cable (Cat6 or better) is pulled to: 
            - Entry/exit terminals
            - Payment kiosk
            - Control room/server 
      b. Internet Access: Required for cloud synchronization, monitoring, and system updates. 
      c. Static IP or DHCP Reservation: Allocate static IPs to all parking devices for reliable operation. 

 

4. Traffic Flow and Lane Readiness for LPR System
For License Plate Recognition (LPR) systems, proper lane setup is essential:
      a. Single-Lane Entry/Exit Control: Ensure each LPR lane handles only one vehicle at a time to avoid misreads.
      b. Vehicle Stopping Point Marked: Mark a clear stop line in front of the LPR camera for consistent plate capture.
      c. Lane Width Optimized: Recommended lane width is 3.0–3.5 meters. Use bollards pole to narrow down lanes if they are too wide.
      d. No Obstructions: Make sure no signboards, trees, poles, or lights block the camera’s view.
      e. Proper Lighting: Provide adequate lighting if the site operates at night to ensure clear visibility for LPR cameras.
      f. Speed Control Measures: Install speed bumps or signage to ensure vehicles slow down near the camera zone.
