Operator Guide: Using Handheld Device for Parking Payment (Checkout)



Introduction
The Handheld Checkout feature in TimeTec Parking allows operators to assist customers by processing parking payments before they reach the exit lane, helping to reduce congestion at exit barriers, speed up vehicle flow, and provide flexible payment options (cashless or cash). Checkout feature improves operational efficiency by enabling fast, flexible, and convenient payment processing before exit. Proper usage helps ensure smoother traffic flow and better customer experience.

Operators can use the handheld device when:
      - Exit lanes are congested
      - Customers require assistance before exiting
      - Special cases (e.g. system delay, manual intervention)

Before using the handheld device, ensure:
      - Device is connected to the internet
      - Operator is logged into the system
      - Handheld device is configured with Bank Gateway for Cashless payment


Process

1. Access Checkout Function
      - Open the TimeTec Parking app on the handheld device
      - Select “Checkout” under Car Plate
                  


2. Insert Car Plate
      - Enter the car plate number
      - Verify the vehicle details displayed on screen
                  


3. Confirm Parking Fee
      - System will display: Entry time, Duration, Total payable amount
      - Click 'Paid' to proceed
      

4. Select Payment Method
      - Choose the preferred payment method, Cashless or Cash
            

5. Cashless Payment Method
      - Select Cashless (e.g. card, e-wallet)
      - Proceed with payment via integrated Bank App
                  


6. Cash Payment
      - Select Cash
      - Collect payment from customer
      - Confirm the amount received
            


7. Complete Transaction
      - Print receipt
