How to Migrate TCMSv3 or Ingress MDB to New TCMSv3 MySQL Software

Introduction

Earlier this year we have introduced the TCMSv3 MySQL Beta version. As of June 2025, FingerTec has officially released new TCMSv3 software. We are excited to introduce the new version of TCMSv3 v4.0.2.6, now equipped with a MySQL database and middleware that enables connectivity with Face ID5, Face ID6, TC10, TC20, Kadex+ and QF Plus. Now, you can migrate your data from TCMSv3 or Ingress MDB software easily.

 

Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth migration process:

1. Backup the Existing Database

a) Go to System Setting > Database Configuration > Database Management > Backup

b) Save the backup file in a safe location on your computer.

2. Submit the Backup File for Conversion

a) Upload the backup file to a file-sharing service such as Google Drive or WeTransfer.

b) Do not attach the database file directly in the email.

c) Email the download link to: support@fingertec.com

Our support team will handle the database conversion and notify you once it's ready for use.

3. Uninstall the TCMSv3/Ingress MDB Software

a) Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features

b) Uninstall TCMSv3/Ingress MDB

4. Remove Remaining Program Files

Delete TCMS V3 or Fingertec Ingress folders:

a) C:\Program Files (x86)\FingerTec\Fingertec TCMS V3

b) C:\Program Files (x86)\FingerTec WorldWide\FingerTec Ingress

 

This ensures no old files interfere with the new installation.

5. Download and Install

You can download the latest TCMSv3 MySQL version from the link below:

Follow the installation instructions provided with the setup:

5. Download the Converted Database.

Once notified by Support, download the converted database from the link provided.


6. Restore the Converted Database

c)  Go to System Setting > Database Configuration > Database Management > Restore

d) Select the converted database file and restore it.

 

After restoring, your data will be available in the new MySQL-based TCMSv3. Perform a quick check to verify all configurations and attendance data are intact.
