Shifting from Ingress MDB/ TCMS V3 to Ingress Mysql Made Easy!

Introduction

Ingress MDB (Microsoft Access database) and TCMS V3 share the same database storage capacity which is maximum of 2GB. After a period of time, users may find difficulties in downloading and extracting attendance data from the device into the software due to the limited database storage capacity, when it’s almost reached its capacity. Therefore, the best solution is to shift to the Ingress software with MySQL database which has no database storage limit and keep the current database without losing any data.

Process

  1. Backup current database in Ingress MDB / TCMSV3 and send to support@fingertec.com to convert to MySQL database

  1. Go to the System Settings > Database Configuration > Database Management > Backup Database.

  1. Upload the database backup to Google Drive or Wetransfer.com and send the download link to support@fingertec.com for us to convert the database from MDB to the MySQL database version.

B. Uninstall current software (FingerTec Ingress (MDB) or TCMS V3) in the computer

  1. Go to the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features\ Uninstall or Change Program and Click on FingerTec TCMS V3> Uninstall

  1. Delete software folder from the Local Disk ( C ) > Program Files (x86)>FingerTec > TCMS V3

C. Install Ingress MySQL version

  1. Download Ingress (MySQL) installer from this link https://www.fingertec.com/softwareupdate/ingress/software-ingress_download_e.html

  1. Follow the installation guide for the Ingress MySQL from this link:

https://support.timeteccloud.com/portal/en/kb/articles/complete-guide-on-how-to-install-ingress-software-with-mysql-database

D. Restore the database (MySQL) received from support@fingertec.com

  1. Once you have received an email from support@fingertec.com with the database conversion (from MDB to MySQL version), you may extract the database file.

  1. Then, login to the Ingress (MySQL) that you have installed earlier in Step C (as above) > go to System Settings > Database Configuration > Database Management >  Restore database.

Now, you are all set to utilize the Ingress (MySQL) database and continue managing the attendance data accordingly.
