INTRODUCTION
Database management has received an interface overhaul, allowing for swift backups and restores. Ingress itself is evolving to enhance the user experience, making navigation a breeze. These enhancements contribute to an overall performance boost for Ingress.

This tip, included in the latest Ingress release, assists and complements the first-time user experience by simplifying engagement with basic backup and restore functions within Ingress's Database Configuration.
PROCESS – METHOD 1
To Backup the Database in the Old PC
Step 1 – In the old PC, go to System Settings Tab.
Step 2 - Select Database Configuration.
Step 3 – By default, the database will be saved in Fingertec Backup
in the (C:) Drive. Then click on the Backup Dump and the backup will commence
automatically.
To Restore the Database in the New PC
Step 1 – In the new PC, Go to System Settings > Database
Configuration > Click Browse.
Step 2 - Select the Ingress database and Click Open to choose the
link.
Step 3 – Upon click Restore, a popup window will appear and ask
for confirmation for restoration. Click on Yes. Another popup window will
appear and shows progress bar for the data restoration.
Remark: Please take note that some database will take longer than usual to backup depending on the size of the database, PC performance and also PC processor.
PROCESS – METHOD 2
For MDB database, the database can
also be found stored in a specific folder location. You may found this folder
in the Local Disk (C:) > Program File (x86) > Fingertec Worldwide >
Fingertec Ingress > Ingress. In that specific folder, you can see the
database as a Microsoft Access Database (MDB) format. The size of the file
depends on the transactions and number of users stored in the database and can
reached maximum size of 2GB.
Step 1
Copy this file in a pendrive.
Step 2
Paste the file into the new PC at a designated folder.
Step 3
Open Ingress, go to System Settings tab > Database
Configuration > Database Management.
Step 4
Browse for the MDB file that you had paste in the new PC, then
Restore. Upon restoration, a window popup will appear and ask for restoration
confirmation.
Step 5
After restoration has completed, another window popup will appear indicating that the restore process is successful.
