Migrating old Ingress v4 (MySQL 5.5.8) to new Ingress v6 (MySQL 8.0)


FingerTec has officially released Ingress Software version 6, which introduces a new communication method for supported devices.

In this latest version, the previous communication mode using AWDMS has been removed and replaced with Middleware. This new communication approach supports devices such as Face ID5, Face ID6, and Kadex+.

For existing users who plan to upgrade to the new Ingress v6, this article will provide guidance to help ensure a smooth and successful migration process.


A) Backup existing Ingress database using SQLyog Community Software 

 

Download SQLyog Community Installer : 

https://s3.amazonaws.com/SQLyog_Community/SQLyog+13.3.0/SQLyog-13.3.0-0.x64Community.exe 


1. Install and launch SQLyog Community and connect to the database server where the Ingress database is located. 

2. Select the Ingress database from the left-hand panel.

3. Right-click on the selected database and choose “Backup/Export” and "Backup Database As SQL Dump" from the context menu. 

4. Click on the "Export" button to start the backup process.

5. Wait for the backup process to complete. Depending on the size of the databases, this may take some time. 

 

B) Uninstall and delete existing Ingress and MySQL folder

1. If you are installing in the same pc, please uninstall and delete Ingress and MySQL folder from Program Data (hidden folder)  and Program Files (x86).






C) Install new Ingress v6

D) Restore Ingress Database Using SQLyog Community Software 

1. Launch SQLyog Community and connect to the database server where the Ingress database is located. 

2. Select the Ingress database from the left-hand panel. 

3. Right-click on the selected database and choose “Import” and "Execute SQL Script" from the context menu. 

4. Browse the Ingress backup database file and click Execute to restore the database. 

5. Wait for the restore process to complete. Depending on the size of the databases, this may take some time. 

6. Run Ingress DBInstaller to complete the restoration process.


Now, you can login to the new Ingress software to manage attendance record seamlessly.
