Work Code Setup for FingerTec Devices

Introduction
Work codes provide a convenient way for companies to categorize different types of work status for their staff, such as attending a meeting or visiting a site. Before work codes can be used, they must be set up in the software and enabled at the device. This article will guide you through the process of setting up work codes from FingerTec software.

Set up at Software (Ingress/TCMS V3)
At Ingress/TCMS V3 software, go to ‘Attendance’ > select ‘Work Code’ > click ‘Edit’
 
 
Next, click ‘Add’ > input ‘Work Code’ and ‘Description’ > press ‘Ok’ > and then click ‘Save’


Once you have saved the work code, click ‘Upload’ to upload the work code into the FingerTec R2 device


Enable Work Code Option at the Device (R2)
After you have set the work code in the software, you must enable the work code option at the reader to complete the process. Go to ‘MENU’ > Select ‘Options’ > Click ‘System Options’ > Choose ‘Advanced Option’ > select ‘Work Code’ to enable. The Admin must choose Mode 1 or 2 for the work code to work. 


Mode 1:
Place your finger on the scanner > insert the work code > press ‘OK’. The system will then verify the user and save the attendance record with the work code.


Mode 2:
Press the ‘Arrow Down’ button on the R2 Device > insert your ‘Work Code’ > press ‘OK’ > place your finger to verify. System will then verify and save your attendance with the work code.


The Result
At the software (Ingress/TCMS V3) you will see the work code have been recorded at Attendance > Data Audit List
