Using a USB Flash Disk with Ingress

Using a USB Flash Disk with Ingress

In Ingress, the Advanced Access Control System, users can opt to use a USB flash disk to replace the need for a working Internet connection to connect to FingerTec terminals. This will enable the user to do the following:

1. Download user information from a terminal into a USB flash disk, and import them into Ingress for viewing and managing.

2. Export user information from Ingress into a USB flash disk, and upload the information to a terminal.

3. Download transaction logs (with clocking data) from a terminal into a USB flash disk, and import them into Ingress for viewing and managing.

To perform these functions, you must first go through the terminal activation process in Ingress under Devices. Read more to learn how to add the terminals to be used with USB flash disks, and how to perform the functions mentioned above.

Adding FingerTec Terminals

Go to Devices > Add Device > Insert Device Name > Select USB under Communication Mode > Insert the terminal's Serial Num. and Device ID > Select Offline under Device Activation > Insert the Product Key > Click Add

A window will pop up, signifying that changes has been successfully made. Click OK to proceed.

Remark: Please make sure that the terminal's product key is available in Ingress, as you will not be able to download the clocking data without it.
