Troubleshooting - AWDMS not showing the AWDMS launcher icon

Introduction

Every software has their own software launcher icon, which will launch the software when the user clicks on it. However, there are cases where the launcher icon did not appear correctly. This issue happens due to Windows configuration which sees the file as a "URL File (.URL)" and not an "Internet shortcut (.URL)" file. In this case, you need to change the default app for the shortcut from Firefox/Chrome (or any other browser you are using) to "Internet Browser". Kindly follow the following steps to solve the issue. 

 

Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > scroll down and select "Choose default apps by file types" > Scroll down to .URL > set to Internet Browser 

 

 

 

Firefox/Chrome (or any other browser you are using) will still be your default browser but Windows will handle the link differently now.
