TimeTec AWDMS Hardware Requirement and Installation Guide

INTRODUCTION

The FingerTec latest facial recognition models such as Face ID 5 series and Face ID 6 use new firmware and architecture that requires a new SDK set to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software. Therefore, TimeTec introduces AWDMS as the middleware between Ingress and the devices. This article will explain the hardware requirements to run the program and the complete installation guide. 


 

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT

Operating System: Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 and higher

Processor: Intel i5 or Higher

Memory: Minimum 8GB of RAM or Higher


Important Note:

  • Both Ingress MySQL and ADWMS 3.1 Installer MUST BE INSTALLED on the same PC

  • Install Ingress (A) first before installing AWDMS 3.1 (B)

  • Once done, run AWDMS Setup Tool (C)

1. First, download the AWDMS installer from the link above and make sure to extract the AWDMS.zip file before proceeding with the installation. 


2. Next, go to the AWDMS folder > Find setup.exe and double click on the setup.exe to start installation.

 


3. AWDMS setup will run an Environment Testing Tool prior to the actual installation, click Continue/Ignore button when the test is completed.


NOTE: You can proceed with the Ignore button if only the ‘Antivirus software test’ has an Error. DO NOT PROCEED if the ’Compatibility test’ or ‘System memory available’ has an Error result. 

 

4. TimeTec AWDMS setup page will prompt out. Click on the Next button to proceed.

 

5. Select ‘I accept the agreement’ and click Next.

 

6. Make sure the Port is set to 8098 and ADMS Port is 8088. Click the Next button.

 

7. Setup will install TimeTec AWDMS into the following folder (C:Program Files\BioSecurity) > Click the Next button.

 

8. Select Default database > click Next.

 

9. Set Backup document path (C:\SecurityDBBack) > Click Next button.

 

10. Click the Install button to proceed with the installation.

12. Select ‘Yes, and restart the computer now’ and click the Finish button to complete the installation.

 

C) AWDMS SETUP TOOL (Convert Postgresql to Mysql database)

By default, AWDMS is installed with a Postgresql Server. However, it is recommended to switch to MySQL for better support. In order to switch to MySQL, you need to run AWDMS setup tool after the PC is restarted. 


1. Go to AWDMS Setup Tool folder > Double click on AWDMSSetup.exe. Press any key to start AWDMS setup. When completed, press any key to exit.


NOTE: Your computer screen might flash a few times, just click “Yes” at the popup dialog box to continue.


 


2. Next, right click on awdms.bat and Run as administrator > Press any key to start running the batch file. When completed, press any key to exit.

 


 


By now, your AWDMS installation and AWDMS setup have been completed. It will take some time for the AWDMS software to load, after this setup. You may proceed to Ingress first to configure AWDMS. Go to Desktop > Double click on the TimeTec AWDMS icon to run the software.

 

3. In Ingress software, go to System Settings > Integration > AWDMS Information

 

4. Click Edit > Key in the AWDMS Server IP Address > AWDMS Port Number > AWDMS Username and Password > Test Connection > Save. If it is successful, a popup dialog box with “Connected To Server” will be shown.


Server : 127.0.0.1

Port : 8098                  

Username : admin

Password : admin

 

By now, the installation and setup of AWDMS is fully completed. You can proceed to add devices and synchronize access levels in Ingress and AWDMS software.
