R3 and R3c With AdapTec X Installation Wiring Diagrams

Introduction

R3 is a fingerprint reader from FingerTec that caters for door access and time attendance verification. R3 comes with multiple verification methods such as fingerprint, card, and password. For a back-to-back biometrics’ security measure, you can pair R3 with slave fingerprint reader R3c.

In this tip, we will go through the wiring diagram for R3 and R3c with Adaptec X as full door access installation references. FingerTec R3 and R3c door access can be installed with two ways:

1.       Secure Installation

2.       Convenience Installation

Secure Installation operates by R3 sending Wiegand signal to Adaptec X to de-energize the magnetic lock for more secure door access operation.

For Convenience Installation, R3 sends a dry contact signal from NO_COM to Adaptec X EXT SW for a more convenient door access operation.
