How to Set Service Accrual in TimeTec Leave

Introduction

The Length of Service Accruals are used to automatically increase your user's allowance or re-assign users into a different policy group once they have reached a certain number of months/years of service within your company. For example, this feature can be applied if your company's policy states that once a user has served the company for more than 2 years, 4 days of Annual leave will be added to their original Annual leave allowance of 14 days.

This article will guide you on how to set the Service Accrual in TimeTec Leave.

Process

  1. Login as System Admin into TimeTec Leave, go to Leave Settings > Service Accrual

  1. To add a new service accrual group setting, click on the Add button

  1. Select the type of benefits. There are two types of service accrual benefits:

  1. Allowance Increase: is a method where you only want to increase a user’s leave allowance without affecting other settings. This method is mostly used when your users are NOT automatically accruing their balance on a weekly/monthly basis, or if you haven’t created any leave policies for your account.

  2. Policy Change: is used to automatically move a user from one policy to another once they have reached a certain number of months of service. This method is used when you have set the automatic balance accruals (i.e. monthly, bi-weekly balance accruals). To use this method, you must first create leave policies.

  1. For Allowance Increase setting, you will need to add each leave type into the setting and set the month of service and the amount to increase the leave allowance. Select whether to reward the increment on the user's anniversary according to the joined date or to reward on calendar year renewal. Repeat the settings for the same leave type for different months of service and for other leave types as well. Click on the Submit button once all the leave types and month of services have been configured.

  1. For Policy Change setting, click on the Add Leave Policy button, select the new leave policy group to transfer users into once they have reached the set month of service. Set to reward the policy changes on either anniversary or calendar renewal year. For example below, once user has reached 24 months of service (equivalent to 2 years), user will be transferred from the initial policy group (e.g. 0-2 Years group) into the new group (2 - 5 Years group) accordingly.
