Introduction
Time Beacon is a battery-powered device that taps on Bluetooth Low Energy, BLE protocol. BLE is commonly embedded in most smartphones, tablets and other devices of today. TimeTec Beacon as a BLE device has been used as a cost-effective replacement for conventional checkpoint devices for guard tours, punch clocks or biometric devices for time and attendance clocking. In addition, they come with a waterproof case for outdoor installation.
Time Beacon has a good battery life, generally lasting from about 18 to 24 months depending on usage, while some may even last over five years.
TimeTec Beacon uses a CR2477 coin lithium battery, a replaceable, non-rechargeable battery, available online and in most electronic shops.
How to check that it is time to replace the Time Beacon battery?
1. Unable to detect the beacon from any TimeTec Apps.
2. There is no LED light blink when you turn the beacon On and Off.
3. Remove the battery and measure the voltage by using Voltmeter.
Process
You will need a Phillips screwdriver to open and close your Time Beacon.
1. Turn your Time Beacon upside down and remove the mounting rubber on the backside.
2. With the screwdriver, carefully remove the screws. Be sure to place them in a safe place so that you don't lose them.
