Complete Guide on How to Install Ingress Software with MySQL Database Server v8.2

Introduction 

Ingress Software previously supported MySQL Server v5.5 only. With the latest Ingress Software version 5.0.0.3, it now supports MySQL Server v8.2. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to install Ingress Software alongside MySQL Server v8.2. 

 

Process 

A: MySQL Installation (Steps 4 - 19) 

B: Ingress software installation (Steps 20 - 26) 

 

1. Disable antivirus and firewall on your PC. 

 

 


2. Open a web browser and download the Ingress Server Software (with MySQL) from this link. For the Ingress Client Software, download it from this link. 


3. IMPORTANT: Extract the installer file and run the setup file as an administrator. 

 

 

 


A: MySQL Installation (Steps 4 - 19) 


4. When initializing the setup, you will be prompted by a screen to install the MySQL database. Click Install to begin. 

 


5. The MySQL Server 8.2 Setup Wizard screen will appear; click Next. 

 


6. Accept the terms in the License Agreement by ticking the box, then click Next. 

 


7. Select Typical as the setup type. 

 


8. Click Install to start the installation process. 

 

 


9. When the installation is complete, click Finish. 

 


10. The MySQL Server Instance Configuration Wizard will appear; click Next. 

 


11. Set the port number for MySQL 8.2 (default: 3306), then click Next. 

 


12. Enter a password for the MySQL server. For simplicity, we recommend using "root." 


13. Click Next to proceed. 

 


14. IMPORTANT: Select the configuration option shown in the screenshot. 

 


15. Click Next. 

 


16. Click Execute to finalize the installation. 

 

 


17. Once all stages are complete, click Next to proceed. 

 


18. Click Finish to complete the installation and configuration of MySQL. 

19. After successfully installing MySQL, proceed to install the Ingress software. 

 

 

B: Ingress software installation (Steps 20 - 26)

20. Accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next. 

 

 


21. Click Next to proceed. 

 


22. Click Install to begin the Ingress Software installation. 

 


23. At this stage, the Ingress dbInstaller will appear. Enter the MySQL password you configured in Step 12 and click Test Connection. 

 


24. If the connection is successful, proceed to Step 2: Update Connection. A message, "Database connection upgraded successfully," will appear. Then, proceed to Step 3: New DB. 

 


25. Once the database creation process reaches 100%, a message, "Database created successfully," will appear. Click OK and then Close to continue. 

 


26. Click Finish to complete the installation. Reboot your computer to finalize the process.
