Complete Guide on How to Install AWDMS 4.0 and AWDMS Setup Tools 2.1

TimeTec AWDMS has been upgraded from version 3.0 to version 4.0. This update reflects the transition from MySQL 5.5 to MySQL 8.2, as MySQL 5.5 is now obsolete. 

 

HARDWARE REQUIREMENT 

Operating System: Windows 10, Windows Server 2012 and higher 
Processor: Intel i5 or Higher 
Memory: Minimum 8GB of RAM or Higher 

 

Important Note: 

Both Ingress MySQL 8.2 and the AWDMS 4.0 Installer MUST BE INSTALLED on the same PC. 

Install Ingress (A) first, followed by AWDMS 4.0 (B). 

Once both are installed, run the AWDMS Setup Tool (C). 



A) INGRESS SERVER INSTALLATION

Follow the Ingress installation steps before proceeding with the AWDMS installation. 

 


B) AWDMS INSTALLATION 


i) Download and Prepare 

AWDMS Installer v4.0

AWDMS Setup Tool v2.1

After downloading the AWDMS Installer, extract the AWDMS.zip file before proceeding. 


 
ii) Install AWDMS 

1. Go to the AWDMS folder, locate setup.exe, and Run as Administrator. 

 

 

2. AWDMS setup will run an Environment Testing Tool before the installation begins. 

NOTE: Click Continue or Ignore to proceed if only the ‘Antivirus software test’ has an error. DO NOT proceed if the ‘Compatibility test’ or ‘System memory available’ has an Error. 

 


3. Click Next on the AWDMS setup page. 

 


4. Accept the agreement by selecting ‘I accept the agreement’, then click Next. 

 


5. Ensure the Port is set to 8098 and the ADMS Port is set to 8088, then click Next. 

 


6. Confirm the installation folder as (C:Program Files\BioSecurity) > then click Next. 

 


7. Select Default database and click Next. 

 


8. Set the backup document path as (C:\SecurityDBBack) > Click Next button. 

 


9. Click the Install button to start the installation. 

 


10. Installation in progress. 

 


11. Once the installation is complete, select ‘Yes, and restart the computer now’, and click Finish. 

 



C) AWDMS SETUP TOOL (Convert Postgresql to Mysql database) 


By default, AWDMS is installed with a PostgreSQL server. However, switching to MySQL is recommended for better support. 

Steps to run AWDMS Setup Tool:

1. Navigate to the AWDMS Setup Tool folder.
2. Double-click on AWDMSSetup.exe and press any key to start the setup. Once completed, press any key to exit. 

 

NOTE: The computer screen may flash a few times. Click Yes on any pop-up dialog box to continue. 

 

 

 

3. Right-click on awdms.bat and Run as Administrator. Press any key to run the batch file. Once completed, press any key to exit. 

 


NOTE: If an error message such as ‘The syntax of the command is incorrect’ appears, it can be safely ignored. 

 



Post-Installation Configuration 

Your AWDMS installation and setup are now complete. The AWDMS software may take some time to load after the setup. You can begin by configuring AWDMS through Ingress.

1. To start, go to the Desktop and double-click the TimeTec AWDMS icon to launch the software. 

 


2. Open Ingress Software and navigate to: System Settings > Integration > AWDMS Information. 

 

  1. Enter the following details: 

  • Server: 127.0.0.1 

  • Port: 8098 

  • Username: admin 

  • Password: admin 

 

  1. Click Test Connection, and if successful, a dialog box with “Connected to Server” will appear. 

  1. Click Save to complete the setup. 

 

 

 

 

Once the installation is complete, you can proceed to add devices and synchronize access levels in both Ingress and AWDMS.
