Best Practices for Managing Admin Access Levels in Your Parking System

Introduction

Efficient management of access levels is critical to ensuring security, accountability, and smooth operations in a parking management system. This guide outlines a simplified and secure admin structure with clearly defined responsibilities and privileges.

Admin Role Structure

1. Master Admin
 Responsibilities:
  - Full control over all system settings and configurations.
  - Create and manage all admin and staff access levels.
  - Acts as the system superuser.

Access Scope:
Complete access to all modules including user management, system logs, and integration settings.

Configuration Tip:
Name the system role "Master Admin" and select the "Full Module Right" option. This ensures that the designated Master Admin can access all modules    and features without limitations.

2. Parking Admin
The Parking Admin is assigned the second-highest access level. This role manages and configures essential system functions while ensuring that highly sensitive analytical data remains reserved for the Master Admin.

Module-Specific Guidelines:
Dashboard Module:

Role Setup: Name the system role "Parking Admin."
Access Control: Disable access to the Analytic Dashboard so that only the Overview Dashboard (displaying earnings data) and the Operation Dashboard (displaying operational and earnings data) are available.

Parking Rules Module

Permissions: Allow the Parking Admin to view charge rates and penalty rules.
Restrictions: Disable the Add, Edit, and Delete functions for charge rates and penalty rules to prevent accidental modifications that could disrupt fee calculations.

For modules such as Company, Season Pass, Device, Record, E-invoice, and Report, you can assign full access rights. However, adjust these permissions as needed based on operational requirements and desired control levels.

3. Operation Admin
The Operation Admin role is tailored for the operations team, offering controlled access to prevent unauthorized changes while ensuring vital system functions are maintained.

Module-Specific Guidelines
Dashboard Module:

Role Setup: Name the system role "Operation Admin."
Access Control: Grant viewing rights solely to the Operation Dashboard. This restriction prevents access to the Overview and Analytic Dashboards, which contain sensitive revenue and performance data.

Parking Rules module:

Restrictions: Block the Operation Admin from editing or deleting critical configurations such as the Holiday List, Entry and Exit Channels, Charge Rates, and Penalty Rules. These settings are essential for accurate fee calculations for casual parking and season passes.

E-invoice module:

Access Denial: Completely restrict Operation Admin access to this module, as it should only be managed by the Parking Admin or the finance department

For modules like Company, Season Pass, Device, Record, and Report, assign full access rights if appropriate. Tailor these permissions further based on the specific operational needs of your organization
